Steps to Certification

2 Steps to becoming an HP Certified Professional
ProCurve Networking by HP – America’s process

After taking the technical or sales training course and passing the associated test(s), follow these 2 easy steps to become an HP Certified Professional for ProCurve Networking

It is important to note that to complete the online application for HP Certification Professional (HPCP) you will need your HP Student ID number that you used when taking the test. If you do not remember your Student ID or need to request one, please call HP America’s Training at 800-732-5741 (option 4) for US, or 800-392-7024 (option 4) for Canada. (NOTE: If the options have changed, listen for the “HP Certified Professional program student ID request" selection NOT the “HP Service & Support student ID selection”).

Step 1: Create a user profile

  • Go to the certification web site at: www.hp.com/certification/americas/index.html
  • On the left side navigation bar, under "Select Your Status", click on the "How to become HP Certified" link
  • Under the section "Exam & program info", click on the "Apply for certification" link
  • Click on "Apply for HP Certified Professional certification"
  • Next, enter your HP Student ID as your username
  • If you have never applied for certification before, this will be your first time using this site, so you will receive a message stating "Username not found. If you a NEW USER, please click here.
  • Choose the "CLICK HERE" option.
  • You will then be asked to create a username of your choice and a password (pay close attention to the password requirements listed)
  • After the username and password has been created you will be able to continue with the application process.
  • Fill in all the required "Personal Information", read the disclosure statement, then click on “Submit and continue
  • Fill in all the required "Company Information", click on “Submit and continue", then confirm the accuracy of the information, read the disclosure statement and click on “Submit

Step 2: Submit the online application for accreditation

  • At the "Application for Accreditation" screen, click on the name of the certification for which you are applying -- either the Accredited Sales Professional or Technical Track option. This is an IMPORTANT step, do not bypass! You will not become certified unless you APPLY for accreditation in the technical or sales track at this step!
  • Check the “HP ProCurve Networking” check-box, and click “Continue
  • You will receive a text box message reminding you to fax or send in your results, click "OK", then click the “I agree/submit” button
  • You will receive an email notification of the status of your application -- if you do not receive an email confirming that the application is being processed within ~48 hours please contact a member of the HP America’s certification team using the contact information below

Optional step: Fax in your results

To quicken your accreditation process, after completing the 2-step application process outlined above, you can fax in your passing exam scores to HPCP at 281-926-1151. Your Prometric test results are automatically forwarded to HPCP on a daily basis, but faxing in your result can occasionally quicken the approval process!

You're finished!
In 4-6 weeks you'll receive a certificate from the Americas HP Certified Professional program, as well as points that can be redeemed for merchandise.
